I Like It.

I think this would be really cute to have for our honeymoon! Hopefully by then I'll be comfortable enough to wear a bikini, because I never have before. : )

I Can't Wait For Our Honeymoon.

Here are some more photos that make me happy. I'm so excited for May 17, 2009. : )

Happy.

For some reason this little strip of pictures makes me happy. : ) I'm not easy to please or anything.

I Love Victoria's Secret.

Are those not the cutest things you've ever seen? I love them. Megan and I went in today after lunch to look around. Well I remembered that I have Bridget's bachelorette party Saturday and I got her some of the cutest stuff. Of course, they didn't have pictures of it on the website. FYI, they have much different stuff in the store than they have on the webpage. If you like it, you can find it here and some more stuff here.

Another Awesome Salad

I made another great salad last night. I think it's great at least. I didn't take a picture of it though, I should keep my camera in the kitchen. It's like as soon as I make these things they look so good that I can't wait to eat them. Anyway.

To make my salad:
Dole Tender Garden lettuce
One whole avocado, sliced
One individual serving cup of corn
One individual serving cup of carrots
Bean Sprouts
Water Chestnuts
String cheese, sliced into chunks
Kraft Asian Toasted Sesame Light dressing

I can't find a picture of the individual servings of veggies that I use. They are Great Value Brand at Wal-Mart and they are in the canned vegetables aisle. They come in the little plastic cups like applesauce does. They have green beans, carrots, peas, corn, and something else I can't remember. Look for them though, they are very convenient. You only microwave them for 30 seconds and they're ready to eat. How easy is that?

My original intent was to make chicken (healthy) fried rice, but I didn't get that far. I'm always starving when I get home. If I make this salad again tonight I think I'll skip the corn and avocado and make it a strictly Asian salad. It was really good though. I only used the corn and avocado because I already had it and the avocado was about to go bad. It was good, I'll eat it again. The dressing is the best. I thought about it at work yesterday and I couldn't stop thinking about having it for dinner! Try it!

Save The Date

You all know how I feel about Save The Dates, but this one is adorable. I love it.

$819.43

That's what this little thing costs. $819.43. Holy cow.

I take it in next Monday and then I pick it up on Tuesday. Woo hoo for rentals. (I know, it's hard to detect my sarcasm. So just so you know, that is sarcastic.)

My Wonderful Gifts

Ok. I was in the gift exchange with the girls on the Knot. This is what my person made for me. I love it! It is an awesome rolodex. The theme of the exchange was "something blue". She did a fantastic job. Her name is Jody, and I officially love her. : )

This is my name tag to go on the front of the rolodex.
She got me these awesome blank cards. They are so cute and they even came with cute little stickers to seal them with that say things like "I do".
She got me this book. : ) I haven't read it yet, but I've almost bought it like every time I go to Barnes & Noble!
This is the card she made and sent with it. Very cute.

My Car

Not too bad.

Updates.

I forgot to post pictures of my car after last weeks accident. Maybe I'll remember tonight. It really isn't that bad at all. I am going tomorrow morning for my estimate to see how much it will cost. I am also going to get an estimate for the spot where Lisa hit me. I need a new car. This one is bad news.

We went and looked at a house yesterday. One we were supposed to look at sold so we went to the other and it was a hell hole. We weren't there fifteen miuntes. We really really like the first house we looked at, but it seems weird to buy the very first house you look at, ya know? I think we are going to go look at it again this weekend. We're talked about it a lot and we think its where we want to live. Our realtor wasn't too excited about us wanting to get serious about it so soon, but it seems like too much of a risk to just leave it and let someone else potentially buy it.

So on the Knot on the May-09 board they did a gift exchange. I was in it and I really hope my person got hers. I got mine the other day (by the way, it should be said that I'm not real sure what the rules are on this gift exchange, I just participated, and I know I did it all wrong) anyway, I got mine the other day and it was the most thoughtful gift. My person made me a rolodex and hand made the little seperator cards in a cute scrapbook-y way. I love it. She also got me some blank cards and a book. She was awesome. I'll post my pictures on here later. Also, I wasn't supposed to open it yet, but I'm not very good with rules. If theres a box and I know theres something in it for me, I'm gonna open it. Thats just how it is.

Yum

Ok, so these definitely aren't the best for you, but they are so goooood. I love them. Don't go overboard with them though...at 200 calories each, they aren't the healthiest snack in the world.

Invitations

I saw Breanna's invitations the other day that she ordered through David's Bridal and I'm pretty sure thats what I'm going to do. They look awesome. I am just afraid that I'll get into making mine and completely lose interest. I just don't think I can make so many of them, even with help. Mine would start to look like crap. I don't have the patience. I love the idea I was going to use, but oh well.

I love this:

Busy Busy Busy..

We have so much going on right now! We are still house hunting. We went and looked at two houses last Sunday and we really liked one of them. We are going to look at two more tomorrow afternoon. We got our mortgage papers all filled out and all we have to do is return them now (which is a relief). And I talked with a travel agent yesterday about our HONEYMOON!!! Yay. I am so excited. We decided to go to Jamaica! I can't wait. We haven't decided which resort we're going to but we are going to stay at one of the Couples Resorts. They have four in Jamaica. The one I want to stay at is Ocho Rios. They have a suite that has its own private plunge pool. I think that would be so awesome. And it is about seven thousand dollars cheaper than Sandals. I don't think I can wait another year! : )

I've Been Gone So Long...

But I promise I'll be back soon! I was going to come on here and post but I see there is a scheduled outage in nine minutes and I just don't think I can cover it all. So to all my loyal readers: I apologize, I shall return. Ha ha. Loyal readers. I'm so funny.

A Break From Food Week

I have been obsessed with food this week. So I'll talk about something else now. Sarah, you're gonna be mad at me, but I'm thinking about just ordering our invitations again.

My friend Bridget ordered her invites through David's Bridal and she got them for super cheap and I think they look awesome. I might (probably will) change my mind again, but for right now I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm still looking.

But really, how awesome is this one:

This Looks So Good

I haven't tried this recipe yet, but I'm dying to. It looks so good. I was waiting on Josh to finish working out the other day (because somehow, we can do the exact same workout, warmups and all, and it will still take him an extra half hour. Whatever.) and I was reading Fitness magazine. They have some good stuff in there. I went to their website yesterday to look for this recipe and they have an offer for a years subscription for $5.99. So I signed up. I think thats a steal, really. If you're interested Click Here . Actually, I just went to that link and it says a year is $9.99. All I did was google "fitness mag" and it brought up the site. I clicked on it and it took me to their homepage and a popup showed up and asked if I was interested in subscribing for $5.99. Try that if you're interested in it. I was impressed when I was looking at it the other day. Heck, if I hate it I'm only out a Starbucks coffee. : )

Whole Wheat Pasta with Ripe Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella, and Fresh Herbs
Make whole wheat pasta according to package directions. While it's still warm, toss in large chunks of ripe tomatoes, cubes of fresh mozzarella, and a mix of chopped herbs, such as thyme, basil, chives, and oregano. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and season with salt and pepper.

Here is a link to the article called "The Lazy Girl's Guide To No-Cook Meals" which includes this recipe and 25 other yummy sounding ones. Check it out. Or just go to fitnessmagazine.com and look around.

Okra!

I love okra. Or so I thought I did. I didn't realize until yesterday that I only love fried okra, not plain okra. Yesterday I was off work (hence the lack of posts..I'm a fantastic employee, I swear) and I went grocery shopping. I absolutely LOVE grocery shopping. I think it is so much fun. Ok, not fun like "woo-hoo I'm on a rollercoaster" fun, but I do enjoy it. I found this pasta recipe (I will post it in a minute) that I wanted to try badly but it called for tomatoes (which just in case you've been living in a cave for about two weeks, you're not supposed to eat tomatoes from certain areas that aren't on the safe list. To see what is on the safe list, click here. Just a note, it has the states where they are grown listed as safe, just because tomatoes grown in Indiana are on the list, that doesn't mean the ones you're eating are from Indiana. At Cosmos, where we eat breakfast, they get theirs from Florida. Just to be safe, I'm avoiding all raw tomatoes. I don't want to get that shit.) so I was looking in the canned food aisle, which I normally don't do. I found these awesome little individual servings of veggies that you just heat up in the microwave. I already knew about the single servings of corn because thats what I got for my blackbean and corn salad, but they have tons of veggies in those things. Look for them at Wal-Mart in the canned foods aisle, GreatValue brand. So convenient.

I've gotten off track. Anyway, I was in the canned veggies aisle and I was just looking at everything and I found this can of okra and tomatoes mixed together. I was thinking to myself "I like okra and I like tomatoes, I bet this will be good." Earlier yesterday after I got home from the Y, I was looking at the Kraft foods magazine that they send out every so often (sign up for it here. It's free, and it rocks.) and I saw a recipe for a baked macaroni that used a box of Kraft Mac & Cheese, tiny little peas, and Oscar Meyer ham pieces, and I thought it looked pretty good. So while I was at Wal-Mart I thought "hmm..I sure would like to eat some macaroni and cheese right now...perhaps I could justify it by adding the okra and tomatoes." And thats what I did.

This is what the okra looked like when I opened the can. Minus the chicken wing, obviously. Not too yummy looking. But I'm tough so I ate it anyway.

I was super stoked when I found this. Whole Grain Kraft Mac & Cheese! How awesome is that. It doesn't mean it's good for you, but it's much better than before. So I made the Mac, mixed in my okra and tomatoes, and had myself a healthy little lunch. The pasta is much more filling than the regular kind. I suggest you try it, it tastes the same too. Normally when my mom and I eat macaroni we split the box (not evenly either, she eats like a bird, I swear). Well she ate her little portion and I went back for the rest and as I was dishing it out I thought to myself "No, I think I'm full." and I was so proud of myself for realizing that I was full and not overstuffing myself on my favorite food. It's a good feeling.

Getting Back In The Swing...

I felt like crap all last week so I decided to take the week off of working out. I originally wasn't going to, but when I hadn't made it to the gym by Thursday, I just decided to go ahead and wait until Monday. Well, I didn't make it to Monday. Josh and I worked out together yesterday (which surprisingly goes much better than it used to) and then I worked out again this morning. I already feel tons better. I think I probably needed that break. I've gone six months straight without really taking any time off. So hopefully this will jump-start some more weight loss. I'm holding steady at 30lbs lost. I'm ready for some new clothes : ) Gotta lose more weight though. I feel good.
