Cutest Thing Today

Joshua's mom got a kitty! It is so adorable. I can't remember what Josh named her though, it was something to do with Egypt.
Isn't it adorable?

Oh, Brother.

My parents bought a pop up camper a few months ago, and today they were working hard to get it ready for this camping season. My brothers were helping out too. They work so hard....

You May Not Know This

But I'm somewhat of meterologist. For real. I didn't take any classes for it, and I don't plan to go into the field, but my entire life I've kept track of the weather.

Being the unofficial meterologist that I am, I told Joshua that last Wednesday was our last cold day of the Spring, and guess who was right?

That's right, folks. Summer is here.

Happy Spring

Aren't they beautiful?

Do You Ever?

Do you ever get a store that you just love?

Thats how I am with Swan Creek Candle Co. and we don't even have one. I found one in Swanton, OH that is an hour away, but thats the closest one!

So I made sure we got into town a little before we were supposed to be at the church for Sarah's rehearsal so I could stop and get some candles. I have all wintry scents, so I wanted to get something light and summery.

I got Citus and Sage, and Grapefruit.

I love how they put these little wax things on top. They don't do anything, except make me happy.

Preschool Graduation

Can you believe they're already old enough to be breaking free of the restraints of preschool and heading off to real school? I can't.

Last night was Will and Dill's graduation. They were adorable.

When did they grow up?

It's Nice To Know That Wherever You Go...

You can always find a Starbucks.
For Sarah's wedding rehearsal dinner, we were treated to the VIP status. :)

While this would be nice....

I have to doubt its accuracy...maybe in a few days though.

Notice, my five-head made it into the picture.

Blogging In The Rain...

All it ever does here is rain.

Celebrating Our Anniversary

We didn't plan anything extravagant, actually, we didn't plan anything. As a gift to each other we bought a new laptop, and its awesome.

We got home from Sarah's wedding late Saturday night and went to bed. Joshua's family took us out for breakfast on Sunday, and my family took us out to dinner.

This is Dillian enjoying cake.
I forgot to take a picture of the cake before I cut it.
All hopped up on sugar.
This is all that was left of the cake. My name is on it, so it should be mine, right?
We went to a local restaurant called "Beach Bums". Which sounds dumb considering this is Indiana. Nothin' more beachy than this. My brothers thought it was cool though, and wanted to take a picture by the palm trees.
We went and saw "Alice in Wonderland" after dinner. When we got home, we opened that first year tradition, the top of the cake.

We had an awesome baker/decorator and she told me how to wrap it so that it would be good a year from our wedding. She told me to wrap the cake in saran wrap, put it in the box. Wrap the box with saran wrap, then foil, and another layer of saran.

You know I'm not going to do all that. I even let it sit in our fridge the whole week we were gone on our honeymoon. So what I did was wrap the box like she said, but I didn't wrap the cake itself.
It wasn't so pretty when I opened it. The red had bled a little and it was kind of scary.

Before we dug in:
I couldn't remember for the life of me what flavor was the top, so I was super excited to find that it was my favorite! Raspberry!! I actually ate quite a bit. Josh only ate one bite, but it tasted good. I couldn't pass it up.
Sigh.

And here it is in all of its glory:

I wouldn't change a thing.

Amico

Isn't he the cutest?
My dog actually does "lie like a rug".

Peonies!

I do love my peonies. I love every color. I have pink though, and I do love them.

The bad thing is...I think they are bringing ants into our house. I haven't been able to prove it, but when its peony season we have ants, and when its not, we don't. Strange coincidence.

This is what they looked like this morning. I was super excited because I thought this meant they were gonna bloom next week.

I was wrong, it meant they would bloom today!

I love the tighter ones. When they're all full and open I think they're messy, but the more closed ones I think are the prettiest.

Don't You Love Aldi?

Some of you might not have Aldi. The first time I was ever in an Aldi store was about three months ago. I just checked out their website and it says they have stores in 31 states, so if you're not lucky enough to have one, move. Just kidding, don't move, just cry yourself to sleep every night.

Ok, so it isn't that great, but it is pretty cool.

A new one just opened by my parents house, and it is a lot better than our older store.

This one even has makeup...
And spices for $1.09.
I didn't get to do a whole lot of shopping (I couldn't find the carts) but I did get some fish like my parents gave us last week. If you haven't been there lately, you should check it out.

Wedding Flowers

I had this picture on my phone. It is a close up of the bouquet charm that I had for Sarah's wedding. They had awesome flowers, they did a great job on them. I thought it was really cool that they were personalized!

Firepit

I have wanted a firepit for a long time. A lady I work with sent me these photos of two different ones. One is hers and one is a friend of hers.

I'm wanting to do something inexpensive.
Do you have pictures of your firepit?

Exciting Travels

While we were driving to Sarah's this weekend, this is how exciting the drive was.
Haha, it wasn't all like that, I just thought it was funny because there wasn't anything on there with us!

Oh, The Things You'll See

Check out this beauty. I saw this on my way to work this morning. Very classy.

New Find

Joshua sent me an email telling me to look at this site.

It really upsets me when marriages don't go as planned, and I really feel bad for this guy, but at the same time, I think his website it awesome. He actually writes too about how its affecting his kids, and himself.

It's called My Ex-Wife's Wedding Dress. You have to check it out.

In Honor of...

Our first anniversary.
Check out my "Wedding" section up top if you want to see more.
Sarah's wedding was yesterday...I'm going to wait to post about it though until I can get some of her professional pictures...I didn't get many with my camera. Her photographer was awesome, and I know the pictures will be too. So, congrats to Sarah and Ben!

This Is Funny

It Gets Me Everytime.

I always cry when I see videos of soldiers being reunited with their family, and this one is no exception. Josh informed me that this is a video he saw like five years ago, but its new to me.

How Does This Make You Feel?

I think there are many things wrong with this, including the fact that the parents of two of these girls were on GMA saying that there isn't anything wrong with it. They are 8 years old.

My Life

In celebration of our upcoming wedding anniversary, I thought I'd share one of our engagement photos.
That is a joke.

Our friend Nate, who is currently becoming a master diver in Thailand, used to live down the street from us. We would usually go over on Sunday nights for dinner. His parents are really cool and would always sit around and talk with us. His stepdad, Pete, is an aspiring photographer. One night we were over there and he had just set up a "studio" in Nate's mom's hair salon.

So anyway, if you know me, I don't typically dress up unless its necessary. So a Sunday dinner at a friends house, isn't usually a reason to dress up. Its just laid back. But Pete insisted in taking our engagement photos...and this is what we ended up with.

Ain't we purdy??

Dillian.

Sometimes I miss living with my brothers, because they are so funny.

Whew. I'm Glad That Is Over.

Let me just tell you about my evening. Get comfortable. This could take a minute.

So you've heard of Spanx, right? In case you haven't, they're these miracle undergarments that will make you look like this girl who is on the website's front page.
Isn't she pretty? Don't you want to look like her? Well, buy Spanx and you will!

Or not.

This is me, Before:
This is me, After.
Is it just me, or do I seriously look bigger in the after picture? Yes, they are crappy dressing room photos, but unless they make me instantly shed fifteen pounds, I'm not paying this for them:
I almost had a heart attack. I calmly walked away.

No Spanx you. (ooohh, that was bad.)

I'm just gonna hit the gym.

So when I was leaving my super helpful "shopping assistant", Annie, gave me a card and told me to head down to the Lancôme counter because they are giving out free gifts! Woo hoo. I love free stuff.

I went down with my card, handed it over and expected to get a gift back in return. Wrong.

I got sat down in a chair and interrogated.

LancômeNazi: What moisturizer do you use?
Me: Whatever I find laying around when I notice my skin is dry.
LancômeNazi: What facial cleanser do you use?
Me: Soap.
LancômeNazi: What exfoliant do you use?
Me: I don't.
LancômeNazi: What foundation do you use?
Me: I don't.
LancômeNazi: What wrinkle cream do you use?
Me: Seriously?
LancômeNazi: Do you experience dark circles?
Me: When I'm tired.
LancômeNazi: Why don't you use foundation?
Me: Because I'm lazy.
LancômeNazi: Do you realize that you have four heads and seventeen eyes?
Me: No, but thanks for letting me know.

Ok, I made that last question up, but she was looking at me like she was thinking that.

While I was stuck in her chair, she lectured me on taking care of my skin and aging, but then told me I didn't have any signs of premature aging. Maybe because I don't use all that crap all the time.

I almost laughed out loud at her because she commented that I had some redness on my cheeks that she was going to cover up, and then she put blush on me. What is that about??

So then she asked me if I wanted to buy all that crap. For like a billion dollars. No thanks.

My "gift" was a ten day supply of my perfect match foundation. Woo hoo. I didn't even get it out to get a picture of it.

This is me with my stuff of my face.
I swear I don't have a lazy eye. Do I? I hope it only looks like that in this picture.I don't have a crooked lip either. It's like bad photoshop happened to me.

So yeah, I managed to escape without paying a million dollars for shapewear or a billion on makeup...which is good because I don't have either dollar amount.

In my world we don't spend outrageous amounts of money on things like that. Instead, we head on down to the Bed Bath and Beyond with our coupons and buy coffee.

And then come home and drink it while you're writing a rather wordy blog post.
