Sweatpants Saturday

Last weekend we watched Gone With The Wind. It is nearly four hours long. If you haven't seen it, this is the entire movie, in 60 seconds.

Yummy Food

I found both of these recipes on Kraftrecipes.com.

We enjoyed both of them enough to probably have them again. Very good.

Interesting

Have you ever needed one of these? Do you know what it is?

It's a muffin pan sponge. Made specifically to fit into the muffin cups on your pan to clean them easier.

Because life just needed to be that much more convenient.

You can purchase one here for less than $3.

Southern Sweatpants Saturday

Have you ever seen Gone With The Wind? I haven't, and neither has Megan. We're going to watch it tonight.
I've heard so much about it, but never realized how long it was! Wish us luck.

Grilled Sandwich Obsessed

I love my flat griddle. It was such an amazing gift. I use it all the time to make grilled sandwiches.

This is the CBLT. Cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato.
This is the Grilled Chesseocado. Cheese + Avocado. Yum.
How do you dress up your cheese toasty?

Fish Dinner

This is a very good, healthy, fish recipe. I got it from Joshua's Muscle Chow cookbook.
Almond Crusted Tilapia

Ingredients:
2 tilapia filets (6 oz each), rinsed and dried
2 tablespoons unbleached or all purpose flour
2 egg whites
juice of half a lemon
20 unsalted almonds, crushed
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
pinch ground black pepper

Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F
Step 2: Put the flour in a shallow dish
Step 3: In another shallow dish, mix together the egg whites and lemon juice
Step 4: In a third shallow dish, mix together the almonds breadcrumbs, parsley and pepper
Step 5: Dredge the fish first in the flour, then in the egg, then in the crumbs.
Step 6: Place the fish in a shallow baking dish. Sprinkle with any remaining crumbs. Bake for 15 minutes. Raise the oven temperature to broil and broil for 1 to 2 minutes, or until browned. Watch carefully as not to burn.

I increased the servings on the recipe because I make sure we have food for lunch too. That is the only thing I changed.
Enjoy!

Breakfast for Lunch

When you don't know what to have for lunch, result to breakfast. I was having a hard time figuring something out for lunch, so I had the idea to eat breakfast at home and take my original breakfast for lunch instead. It was the healthiest lunch I've eaten in a while!
Ingredients:
overnight oats
peanut butter
syrup
cinnamon
banana
chocolate cheerios
and an apple

It was so good, and filling!

Halloween

What are you going to be?

Shopping Adventures

I have lots of shopping photos to share, and rather than do separate posts for all of them, I'll do them in one.

Mom and I went to Kirklands the other day and I found these on clearance. I put the red ones back so I only bought the brown, champagne, and green. I plan to put them in a red glass bowl for a Christmas decoration. They actually match our living room pretty well, so I may place them in a clear glass bowl for all other seasons.
This sign was also at Kirklands. I really liked it, but didn't know where I would place it in our home.
Panera has this "My Panera" rewards card, kind of like Kroger Plus Cards, and when you buy food they give you treats. I got a free smoothie, and it apparently comes with a hose. Check out the size of this straw.
I got their low cal strawberry, and it was really good...despite the cold day.
I picked up this eyeliner brush from Ulta a few weeks ago. It works really well. It is Studio Basics.
I decided it was time to switch eye makeup removers, and settled on this L'Oreal from Ulta. I was originally using Arbonne, but didn't have a million dollars to buy more. I found this little travel size makeup remover, but it was a gel, and I didn't really care for it. Both of those products can be found at Ulta.
I found this devotional at Sam's Club. I have the Women of Faith bible, and am considering buying this devotional book. I haven't yet, but I might.
Joshua and I went to Barnes & Noble after a date night and I spotted this book. I thought it was funny because my childhood dog was named Tango. I never new there was a book about a dog with the same name.
What kind of shopping adventures have you had lately? Good deals??

Random Puppy Picture

He isn't a puppy, but here is a picture of him anyway.
Amico came back inside last week and this was taken after our walk.

Want To Be Super Organized?

Some of my family members think I'm being a bit psycho with my organizing. I don't.

I started planning out our weekly meals to make grocery shopping easier, and cooking easier. I can't even tell you how unlikely I am to cook if I have to run to the store before I come home from work. It ain't happenin'.

I got this calendar from a game at Sarah's bridal shower, and love it. I'm going to have to make something once it runs out.
There are only two of us who live here, so I have learned how to adjust how much to cook in regards to how much we throw away (or feed the dogs with). Originally I was cooking four times a week and having left overs three times a week. I typically try to have one recipe be in the crockpot, and quickly found out that four times a week was too much food. I cut it back to three times this week and it seems to be the perfect amount of food.

How do you keep meals organized?

Sweatpants Saturday

Megan and I decided to have this Sweatpants Saturday be to watch Disney movies. I'm not going to lie, I haven't really wanted to watch an old Disney movie since the early 90's, but for some reason it sounded like fun lately. Meg bought the Beauty and the Beast because it was just re-released, and brought it over. I really wanted to watch the Sword in the Stone, but couldn't find it, so I got Sleeping Beauty.

I Know You've Been Waiting For This

Last week I was looking for some drapery rods online. I found out how long our dang window was and was referred to check out JC Penney's selection. I found this Cindy Crawford rod on the website and found out that it was on sale. I put all three that I would need in the cart to see what my total might come to. It was around $175. They were all 50%-60% off. I wanted the silver.
I just happened to be doing some grocery shopping and walked over to the drapery section and spotted this:

It is the exact same thing, if not identical. This was found at Walmart and I got all three for what I would have paid for one at Penney's. I'm so serious.

Here they are in action:

The grommets.
And finally, the curtains. My friend Amber made these for me. She is amazing. With a capital A. She and I went to JoAnn's a few months ago to pick out fabric. We have lived in our house for two years and I never bothered to get curtains. The front window is massive and i just didn't feel like looking. We got used to living without them so it wasn't a priority. Every time Amber came over she would be weirded out by the fact that we didn't have curtains so she offered to make them for us. She is amazing.

This is the big window, closed obviously.

The pattern. I believe this is Better Homes & Gardens line. They still have it at JoAnn's, I was there Sunday.
Our entry and dining windows, open.
Entry and dining, closed.
Dining
Entry
A little of all three.
Isn't that tree amazingly orange? I took this for the curtains, but then noticed the tree.
Big window, partially open.

Big window, all the way open
I love them. It is so nice to finally have them. I didn't realize what I was missing!

The Coolest Babysitters Ever.

Josh and Dillian. We are such cool babysitters.

Method

I wrote a review a few months ago about Method Detergent.

The verdict is:
I bought more.
I really like the convenience factor on these. They really are awesome. I'm using the detergent and fabric softner now. This can be found at Target.

Have you ever used these? What do you think?

Fall Decorations

So, I've never been one for seasonal decorations. I am still not. I don't like the idea of having things that you can only use at certain times. I'm the same way with China. I do not have a set of dishes that we only use on certain occasions. I think that is entirely wasteful and ridiculous. I hardly have any Christmas decorations either, but today while I was cleaning I found my only fall decorations.

My mom bought these ghosts for me last year while I was in the hospital. I think they are adorable and look great on our half wall. :)
I bought these cute little mini pumpkins tonight while I was grocery shopping.
And that is all of fall for me.

Welcome, Fall!

I really love fall, but it is so hard to get up in the morning when it is dark out...
And when the temperature drops.
Do you love fall?

Make Herr's Yours!

When we were on vacation I posted about how I could not find these chips at home...well, believe it or not, they're here!
I love these chips so much that I shouldn't buy them ever again. They didn't last very long in our house.

Have you ever had these?
