I Love This Photo

I think this is a great picture. I love it.

My Peonies Bloomed!

And they are so beautiful. They are definitely my favorite flower ever. Love them.

So Peaceful

On our way home, we stopped at a winery in Kentucky, and came across this. It was really cool.

Funny Floors

We thought it was weird that our condo had the exact same tile flooring as our dining room. Now that I actually look at them at the same time, they are a little different, but we both recognized it right when we got there.

Our Honeymoon.

There was a "little" mix up in our room accommodations. This is what we were supposed to have:

And this is what we got:

We still had fun.

I Found "My" Drink

I posted earlier about how I really like Tequila Sunrises. I decided to try to make them at home last night, because they're really simple. I bought Orange Juice, Grenadine, and Jose Cuervo. This is what I came up with, and they were good. We had tacos last night, so I thought I'd just complete the meal. The grenadine bottle said something like: 2oz tequila, 4 oz orange juice, 3/4oz of grenadine, but I didn't really follow that, I pretty much put what looked good into a glass. I like them because they aren't as filling as a margarita. Ok, thats enough. I'm blogging about alcohol at 8 in the morning on a Sunday. Next topic.

I Am Old.

Never ever in my whole life did I think I would ever get excited about a vacuum, or even like vacuuming. I mean really, who does that? I do. Originally I wanted to get the Dyson Ball...because really, what is cooler than that? I didn't really check on the specifics or anything, so it's probably a good thing that we didn't get it as a wedding gift. Or whatever, I wouldn't have turned my nose up at it for sure. We decided that we desperately needed a vacuum, and decided to pool all of our gift cards and end of registry coupons to get one. I went to the store and started comparing the $550 Dyson Ball with the $450 Dyson something or other. Really what I came up with is that basically the ball is the only feature on the one vacuum, so I saved $100 and got the other. I used it tonight for the first time, and it is AMAZING. I highly recommend it. You don't have to touch anything when you empty it either. That in itself, is totally worth it.

Aquarium

I'll post a few pictures from the aquarium and then I'm headed off to bed. We went to the Ripley's Believe It or Not Aquarium of the Smokies while we were in Gatlinburg, and it was so cool. It was way better than the Chicago Shedd Aquarium. I took tons of pictures, but only a few really turned out. I would love to go back and see it again, I'd love to go back to Gatlinburg period.

I'm not sure if I've ever complained on here before about the poor quality of my Kodak camera, but I usually do complain about it. I was telling Joshua that I really hoped someone would get the camera from our registry so I could take really good pictures on vacation. Well he happened to remember that he happened to have a digital camera, and it happened to be pretty damn nice. It took all of these pictures. I still can't believe he held out on me that long. All I ever do is complain about that stupid Kodak. Oh well, we're married, what is his, is mine.

Ring Photos

I love these ring photos. Josh thinks they're dumb, but I like them.

I Haven't Seen All the Photos

But this one is one of my favorites so far.

Fun Stuff

This is quite possibly the most clever gift, ever. Josh's relatives gave us this bowl full of crumpled up dollar bills instead of just putting money in a card. This was an awesome idea. Everyone loved this gift.

I got a new griddle that I got to try out for the first time today. I love it. In my old french toast making days I'd have to make two pieces at a time because thats all that would fit into the pan, but now I can make the whole meal on one griddle.

It even tasted better. I am in love with this griddle.

You will love this griddle too. Here are the specifics about it in case you want to order it. I'm not kidding you, it is amazing. I'll even let you come over and try it out, but it may be cheaper for some of you to just buy one. :) I promise, it's wonderful, and it has a ten year warranty.

I'm Back

and I'm a Mrs! I'm going to do a post about the wedding, but I'm not sure when, so you'll just have to wait for it. I feel like I've been talking about it nonstop since we got home, so I'll post about it when I feel like it, and you'll have to deal with it.

I'm going to post about the random pictures filling my inbox from my phone so that I can empty it. I hate when I'm looking at my inbox and there is a bold number next to it because I have unread messages. It's a pet peeve of mine, I can't have unread messages in my work inbox either, I'm weird, I know. So I'm emptying it out so that I feel some sense of organization.

While in Tennessee I decided to make it my personal goal to become an alcoholic. I was well on my way too, when we ran out of money. Just kidding. I did decide that I was going to try new things so that I could see what I liked and what I didn't. I found out that I really like tequila sunrises. This one isn't from vacation though. We ate at Granite City yesterday and I ordered this there, because we were technically still on our honeymoon because we hadn't gone back to work yet. The next time I get one I'll have to come up with a different excuse. I have also tried to get really sneaky about taking pictures of Josh's ring, and actually didn't even notice it was in this picture until Megan pointed it out. I'll do a post later of all my sneaky ring pictures. They're usually while he's eating.

This is Josh's big ass beer. This was a sneaky ring picture as well. If you haven't eaten at Granite City, you should. We got burgers and they were soooo gooood. I will definitely go back. Sorry, Sarah, they don't have a location in Michigan, but Amy, they do have one in Missouri. Here is a link to their website.

These are the bottles of wine we brought home from our honeymoon. The bottle all the way to the left is from Acres of Land Winery in Richmond, Kentucky. The four other bottles are from Smoky Mountain Winery . We are really getting into wine, and got some really cool accessories from the wedding and my showers. We have been wanting to go to a wine tasting so we can find out what we really like. We went to the Smoky Mountain Winery in Gatlinburg, TN first and they had really good wine. We bought one bottle of our favorites. One bottle each of a red and a white. I wish we would have gotten more though. We got home and looked up the website and found out that they don't ship. The Acres of Land Winery does, but we didn't like it as much as the first one. I know some people going doing to Gatlinburg in three weeks and said they would get us some, but they might be a little put out if I ask them to get more than one bottle. We might just go back down, who knows.

This is our wine rack, I assembled this myself. Before:

I love it. This was a gift from our friend, and best man Sean, his wife Alex, and their son Sutton.

My Posting Is Lacking

If you can't tell, I've been busy. I am going to go ahead and call this my farewell post, because I'm pretty sure I'm not going to have time to post until we get back from our honeymoon. The wedding is tomorrow, and the wedding weekend officially starts in about five hours. Sarah will be here around 11:30 and then we're off to get manicures and pedicures. The rehearsal is at five, and I'll be tying up loose ends until then. Wedding day starts bright and early with hair and makeup. I am so excited about today, tomorrow, and the whole next week. I've taken lots of pictures of details to post about when I get the time, so be prepared for a big section of after wedding posts!

I can't believe it's finally here.

A Few Goals

I have made a few goals for myself for the next week or so.

Today is Mother's Day, but that is not the reason why I am setting this goal for myself. I am going to try not to yell or be short with either one of our mothers for the rest of this week and especially on the wedding day. I know that I should strive for this every day, but really, it is hard. I feel bad that I've been so negative lately with my mom and that I've been short and snappy with her. I want the wedding day to be a great memory for all of us, I don't want to upset them by yelling at them, and I definitely don't want to embarrass myself in front of everyone by being a total bitch.

Goal number two: smell the roses. It is probably going to be hectic the next few days, but I want to make sure I enjoy it. I want it to be fun, and I want to remember it. I don't want to be stressed out, and worried about things that don't matter.

Goal three: have a clean house. I don't want to come back from our honeymoon to a disaster. I want to really clean the place and have it looking nice so that we can come home and stay relaxed.

I guess we'll see what happens. :)

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is this Sunday, so we invited our mothers (and my dad and brothers) over for dinner on Saturday afternoon. I don't know what we're going to be eating yet, but I'm really excited about having them over. I want to make it really special for them. I really feel like I should be busier with the wedding, but I'm not. I am very excited though. If you have any ideas for a wonderful Mother's Day let me know, I'd love to hear ideas.

Isn't this cake adorable? I love it. It's from Sugarliciousonline.com. I was just checking out the website because I saw that its only $40...which is not actually $40, because the company is in the United Kingdom. Maybe I'll look for something a little closer.

I Can't Believe the Things I'm Interested In

I have never in my life cared about the yard, or landscaping, but now I want to do so much to the outside of our house. I don't even know who I am anymore. I've never wanted to be an outside person, bugs make me panic, but landscaping makes me feel relaxed. It's so weird.

We have a brick planter that goes across the entire front of our house, and it isn't in the best shape. It's crumbling at the corners, and is badly in need of repair. I would eventually like to remove the entire thing and build a deck around the house, but I also like this idea. It would be just to remove the current wall and put up a new one. I think these tan-ish bricks would look much better than the red ones we have now. This would be a very expensive project because those bricks are about $0.80 each. Maybe someday.

I don't know how much these bricks run. It would also probably be worth it to see how much someone would charge us to take the old planter out and put in a new one because it would be a ton of work for us, and would be much easier to pay someone. Just thinking now, I don't have any plans right now to do anything. :)

I'm Starting to Think

That this wedding has turned me into one big fat baby. I can't watch television anymore because all that is ever on are Mother's Day commercials and they make me cry. Commercials make me cry. How lame. The other day a Lutheran Hospital commercial made me cry, and it wasn't even sad.I haven't listened to country music for at least two weeks. I'm hoping this goes away soon. Ugh. Like just now, I Googled "tears of joy" to find a picture to put in this post, and all of the pictures that came up were wives hugging their soldiers. Sorry, no picture for this post.

Taco Pizza Tuesday

In honor of Cinco de Mayo we had Taco Pizza Tuesday! I haven't ever made taco pizza before, but I think it turned out really well. I have posted the recipe for my pizza dough earlier, so if you want to make it, you'll have to dig through my previous posts. I'm not exactly sure where it is, but I do know I posted it this year, so good luck! :) A lot of recipes I've found say to use the store bought pizza dough, so that is probably much easier. I spread out the dough on the pan, put on about a half a can of tomato paste and spread it as evenly as possible, that stuff isn't the greatest at spreading. Oh, first you have to brown the hamburger, and add taco seasoning according to the packet instructions. After you put on the paste, add the hamburger (I used a half a pound per pizza). Then crush tortilla chips, add shredded lettuce and cheese. And bake!

It was so good. We also had guacamole, but I didn't get a picture of it. I was running late getting home so I didn't even get a picture of the pizza we ate, this is the second one I made for us to eat the rest of the week!
