My Crazy Wonderful Life

Life has been busy lately to say the least. The very least.

I'm more than halfway through my last undergraduate semester in college. I'll have my bachelors degree in about five weeks, which is impossible to believe. In a little over two months I'll be starting at IPFW to finish it all up.

We're closing on our house on November 7, just about two weeks from now. Which is also hard to believe. I never thought it was actually going to happen. I started working on the room I'm going to use as my office last weekend. I got all of the wallpaper down, which wasn't as hard as everyone warned me it would be. I'm going to start cleaning the walls and painting this weekend.

Our wedding is now less than seven months away. Which I can't believe (notice a pattern here? I can't seem to keep up with my own life). I'm ready for it to be here, mentally that is, if it were to be tomorrow I don't have a lot of things done that I still want to do...like pick a honeymoon destination...we need to get on top of that. My problem though, is that I'm so ready to get in the house and get it set up how I want it that the wedding isn't as important to me anymore. If someone else had just wrote that sentence and I had read it ten months ago, I would think they were INSANE. I guess my priorities have changed, a lot. I understand how important our wedding is, but quite honestly, it's about the rest of our lives. We could go to the courthouse and get married in jeans and sweatshirts, it's all the same really. There have been a lot of positive changes in our relationship in the last year, and I think I can contribute it to my growing up, and realizing what is really important in life (which I no longer feel includes 300 favors for our guests, a giant ring, an outrageously expensive trip to Jamaica, or an ice sculpture.) I'm really happy with my life right now, and to be honest, in a way I don't even feel like the same person.

I've lost 38lbs now. Which is, you guessed it, completely unbelievable. I feel so much better all around (except for today. It seems that no matter how much weight you lose, you can never escape cramps and bloating.) I still do stupid stuff though. The other night I was at Sam's Club getting dog food and burst an entire 50lb bag of food on the floor. The whole thing. Talk about embarrassing. At least that part of me isn't gone.

And I just want to point out, I always thought an ice sculpture was outrageous, Josh wanted that one.
