This Couldn't Wait

I have developed a habit of taking pictures all week and then waiting to post until the weekend. This weekend wasn't so posting productive. I saved all of my pictures to my computer last night with intentions of posting whenever. However, I just made this, and it cannot wait until I get around to it. It is so good, you have to have it now.

Joshua bought this cookbook a few years ago.



I have a full shelf of my own cookbooks that I never even use, but this one book that Josh bought is constantly used in our house. Almost everything I make is from it.


We were trying to determine our menu the other night and were flipping through that cookbook. We pulled out enough recipes for the week and I happened to see this recipe as I was looking through it. It is fabulous.


Chocolate Almond Mocha Blast

Ingredients:
1/2 c fat free milk
1 level tablespoon instant coffee
10 unsalted almonds
1 tablespoon lecithin granules
2 packets sweetener
6 to 8 ice cubes
2 scoops protein powder

Instructions:
Step 1: Put everything except ice and protein powder in a blender. Blend on high until fully mixed.
Step 2: With the blender on medium, add the ice and protein powder. Blend on high until fully incorporated


Makes 1 serving
Per serving: 393 calories, 47g protein, 24g carbohydrates, 10g total fat, 2g fiber.


I don't know what lecithin granules are, so I skipped them. I just made this a little bit ago and it is amazing. You should try it. I mean it, it is soooo good.
It is one of my favorite beverages. Seriously.

    I may just have to try that. Although, I too hav eno idea what lecithin granules are. Maybe the health food store would know.
