I started it probably a month ago, and actually liked it more than I thought I would. I like Elin Hilderbrand, but she isn't quite my type. All of her books are set on Nantucket Island, and I just can't connect with it. I've never been on a beach for more than a week at a time, so I can't imagine being there all the time. I know this shouldn't have anything at all to do with liking the book or not (because obviously I've never dated a vampire), but there is something I just don't click with. I think my problem with her is that every one of her books are set on Nantucket, I wish she had a little more variety. In the end I feel like they're all the same.
Check it out if you're looking for a light summer read. No thinking involved.
I was contemplating picking this book up, but I couldn't decide. So instead I decided to read the books to which I have seen the movies of. Ha. I'm a loser, I know. But I have made myself a pact from now on-- if there is a movie that is coming out that is based off the book, I WILL read the book first and then watch the movie. But for now, I will be reading The Blind Side, Time Travlers Wife, and Dear John. All compliments of Half Priced Book Store. Gotta love it! Wish this non-reader luck! hehe
ReplyDeleteI liked the Time Traveler's Wife. In that case I think watching the movie first would be ok because I was disappointed on how much was left out. They stayed very close to the book, so you'll just be getting more details. I haven't read the other two, but good luck! I love the half priced book store. You actually may have my copy of the Time Traveler's Wife, I just sold it back to them recently. :)
